PlantSpace
A mindful native application for plant lovers, botanists, and gardeners on Android & iOS.
PlantSpace is built on a simple premise: caring for plants is a quiet, deliberate, and rewarding human experience. Most contemporary social media apps turn hobbies into frantic attention races packed with ads and intrusive algorithms. PlantSpace provides a dedicated, calm ecosystem built specifically for botanical sharing and private discussion. We are building native versions for both Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) and iOS (Swift, SwiftUI).
Core Features
1. Sprouts (Posts) & Vines (Comments)
Document your botanical journey through Sprouts—public posts capturing propagation progress, leaf growth, potting mixes, and care questions. Vines are conversational comments branching off from Sprouts, allowing gardeners to share advice, identify cultivars, and build threaded discussions like vines branching from a plant.
Public Content: Sprouts and Vines are published openly for the community to discover, appreciate, and learn from.
2. Whisperings (Private Encrypted Messaging)
Direct 1:1 messaging for sharing cuttings, seed exchanges, and personal care advice. Whisperings use end-to-end encryption—we cannot read your messages.
Private & Encrypted: Only you and your recipient can read what is sent. We do not store plaintext messages on our servers.
3. Communities (Open Flora Groups)
Topical, open-join groups centered on plant families (e.g., Aroids, Orchids, Succulents, Native Flora) and geographic zones (e.g., Monsoon Gardening, Terraces of South India).
Public Content: Community discussions and media are open for members to learn and collaborate freely.
4. Dynamic Profiles (Morphing Plant Avatars)
Your profile avatar grows and morphs mathematically as you document your plant journey through four developmental stages:
Architectural Transparency & Safety
We maintain strict boundaries between public spaces and private communications:
- Whisperings: 1:1 messages are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read your messages or access their content.
- Sprouts, Vines & Communities: Public content shared openly with the community. Subject to our Community Standards and moderation.
- No Ad Trackers: We do not track you across third-party websites or sell user profiles to ad brokers.
For full disclosures, review our Privacy Policy and Child Safety Commitments.
